NAIDOC

NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from 5-12 July 2026.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a time to learn, connect and participate in events that honour the world's oldest continuing cultures.

For information about local celebrations, visit the Fraser Coast NAIDOC Events Facebook page. You can also find national resources, events and information on the NAIDOC website.

2026 Theme: 50 Years of Deadly

In 2026, NAIDOC Week marks a significant milestone – 50 years of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, culture, resilience and achievement.

The theme, "50 Years of Deadly", recognises the people, communities and generations who have shaped the NAIDOC movement over the past five decades. It honours the Elders, advocates, artists, leaders and community members whose strength and determination have helped create lasting change and inspire future generations.

As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the achievements of the past while continuing to support a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, knowledge and leadership are recognised, respected and celebrated across Australia.
