The gates of the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct at Nikenbah opened on Saturday 16 February 2019.
The Sports Precinct at Nikenbah is a multi-stage development.
Stage 1 provides the following:
- Netball - eight (8) standard netball courts with acrylic non-slip court surfacing to Netball Australia specification, exceeding 200 lux lighting, and a club house facility;
- Soccer - Two (2) premium playing surfaces and two (2) standard playing surfaces, FIFA standard, field lighting of over 200 lux and club house facility; and,
- Oztag - Allocation of three (3) standard soccer fields providing six (6) standard oztag fields.

Brisbane Roar visit
Council is excited to be partnering with the Brisbane Roar Football Club to welcome the A-League club to the Fraser Coast from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 September 2019.
The visit will include a team dinner hosted by the Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce, open training sessions and a trial game against a local representative team.
The pre-season exhibition match against the Wide Bay Select Team will be played at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct, Woods Road, Nikenbah, on Saturday 21 September 2019 at 5pm.
Tickets to the game are free but we are asking those attending to please register to help us gauge numbers Eventbrite.
In addition to the main event, there will also be a series of games involving local junior representative teams starting from 12pm.
The Roar visit is a great opportunity for a group of local footballers to compete against elite players from Queensland’s only Hyundai A-League side, who are coached by Liverpool legend and former England striker Robbie Fowler.
Tickets are also now on sale for the Brisbane Roar Team Dinner on Thursday 19 September 2019 at 7pm at the Hervey Bay RSL.
The Sports and Recreation Precinct is located on the corner of Woods Road and Road 477, Nikenbah. There is major road access via Maryborough/Hervey Bay Rd, Woods Rd, Main Street, Booral and Chapel Roads.
Pedestrian and cycle connectivity is available via the mobility corridor. The precinct is 20 mins from Maryborough and from five to 14 mins from most areas of Hervey Bay.

FCRC has undertaken a landmark legacy project in the form of the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct - a 60Ha staged development will cater for the sports and recreation needs of the Fraser Coast community both now and into the future.
