Impounded Animals

If a wandering animal is found and brought to our Animal Facility, it will be listed below within 24 hours. 

To retrieve a lost pet in our care, please contact Council as soon as possible. Animals not collected within five days of being found will be evaluated for rehoming through the Adoption Centre.

We are open 7 days a week from 10am – 2pm (closed public holidays). For collections outside these hours please call to make an appointment.

Reclaiming your pet

  • Identification and proof of ownership are required.
  • Unregistered dogs must be registered before they can be released.
  • Release fees may apply (refer to our Fees and Charges for details).
  • Payment is by EFTPOS only.
