Carpark and Footpath Connection – Torquay Road, Pialba

What's happening

Council is constructing a new 34-space sealed carpark within the Watson Street Road Reserve, along with a connecting footpath to Torquay Road.

The project includes:

  • Construction of a sealed 34-space carpark.
  • Two disability-compliant parking spaces.
  • A new concrete footpath and kerb ramp connecting to the existing pedestrian network on Torquay Road.
  • Linemarking, earthworks, and landscaping of disturbed areas.

Why

The project will provide additional sealed parking in the area while improving pedestrian access between the new carpark and Torquay Road.

When

  • Final design: June 2026
  • Construction: July–August 2026
  • Expected completion: September 2026

Timeframes are subject to weather and may change.

What

Works include:

  • Excavation and earthworks.
  • Pavement construction and two-coat bitumen seal.
  • Concrete kerb ramp and connecting footpath.
  • Linemarking for 34 parking spaces, including two accessible bays.
  • Topdressing and turfing of disturbed areas.

How much will it cost

The project is estimated to cost $150,000.

Community impact

Traffic and pedestrian management measures will be implemented during construction to help maintain safe access while works are underway. Details of the traffic management plan will be finalised before construction begins.
