When

Construction will begin on 13 July, with works expected to be completed by early November 2026, weather permitting.

What

Works include excavation and earthworks, replacement of rock armour on the groynes, reconstruction of sections of the seawall using rock bags, and maintenance of rock revetments.
Landscaping and revegetation will also be carried out where needed.

How much will it cost

The project is estimated to cost approximately $2.4 million.

Community impact

During construction, there will be temporary changes to pedestrian access and exclusion zones in work areas.
Residents can also expect increased truck movements along parts of Elizabeth Street, the Esplanade, Alexander Street and Cypress Street as materials are transported to site.
