Playground upgrades and shade improvements

What’s happening

Four playgrounds across the Fraser Coast are being upgraded. Some parks will get new play equipment, and others will get new shade.

  • Alex Gillespie Park - new playground, shade and car park improvements
  • Parklands Boulevard Park - new playground, shade, lighting and landscaping
  • Woocoo Wildlife Reserve - new shade sails
  • Anzac Park - new shade sails
Why

The upgrades will make playgrounds safer, more modern and more comfortable. They will also give families better protection from the sun.

When
  • Shade works at Woocoo Wildlife Reserve and Anzac Park: starting now, finishing by late May
  • Playground upgrades at Alex Gillespie Park and Parklands Boulevard Park: early May to late June (weather permitting)
Who’s doing the work

Fraser Coast Regional Council is delivering the upgrades.

Community impact

Families will have safer places for kids to play. More shade will make parks more comfortable, especially in hot weather. These upgrades will help people stay active and enjoy their local parks.
