Council upgraded internal access at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct. Works included sealing the existing gravel service road, installing turf reinforcement matting to the maintenance shed, and constructing two new concrete paths linking the football amenities buildings.
The upgrades:
Improve vehicle and service access
Provide safer, more accessible routes for players, officials and spectators
Reduce damage to turf and playing fields from vehicle movements
Support the efficient operation of a busy regional sports hub
Final design: October 2025
Construction: November 2025 to March 2026
Completed: March 2026
Fraser Coast Regional Council, with funding support from the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program.
The project cost $700,000.
There were temporary changes to internal access and parking within the precinct while works are underway. Traffic management and signage was in place, and Council worked with user groups to minimise disruption.
