Fraser Coast businesses, community organisations, sporting groups and government agencies are being encouraged to showcase their products and services at this year's Over 50s Lifestyle Expo, with exhibitor expressions of interest now open.
The annual Expo will be held at the Hervey Bay Baptist Church in Nikenbah on Friday 2 October from 9am to 2pm as part of Queensland Seniors Month celebrations.
Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the Expo had become one of the region's most popular Seniors Month events, providing exhibitors with a valuable opportunity to connect with the Fraser Coast's growing over-50s community.
“The Over 50s Lifestyle Expo has been bringing people together for more than two decades and continues to be one of the highlights of Seniors Month on the Fraser Coast," he said.
“With this year's theme of 'Connections', we're encouraging exhibitors to be part of an event that celebrates community, wellbeing and active ageing.
“The Expo regularly attracts hundreds of visitors and features up to 80 exhibitor sites, making it an excellent opportunity for businesses and organisations to showcase their services, products and programs directly to an engaged audience.”
Cr Seymour said exhibitors from a broad range of sectors were encouraged to express their interest.
“Whether you provide health and wellbeing services, retirement living options, travel experiences, legal or financial advice, mobility products, hobbies or social activities, we would love to hear from you," he said.
Fraser Coast Regional Council Seniors Liaison Officer Juls De Waard said several exciting additions would make this year's event even more accessible and engaging.
“For the first time, entry to the Expo will be completely free, making it even easier for people to come along, explore what’s on offer and enjoy the day,” she said.
“We're also introducing free transport options, including a shuttle bus service and door-to-door transport from both Hervey Bay and Maryborough, to help ensure everyone can participate.
“We're excited to be adding a series of workshops throughout the day, giving visitors even more opportunities to learn new skills, gather information and connect with others.”
Businesses, community organisations and government agencies interested in exhibiting, sponsoring the event or donating prizes can submit an expression of interest via Council's website at www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/exhibitors-Over50sExpo or by emailing Juls.DeWaard@frasercoast.qld.gov.au
People wishing to access the free transport service can contact Juls De Waard on 4194 2441 to make a booking.
A full program of Seniors Month events will be released closer to October.
