Hervey Bay Community Hub opening soon
Published on 18 June 2026
The new Hervey Bay Library and Fraser Coast Regional Council Customer Service Centre will open in the Hervey Bay Community Hub on 31 August 2026, marking the first stage in the new city centre facility.
The Community Hub is a once-in-a-generation investment in community infrastructure that will serve Fraser Coast residents for decades to come.
The Hub is a commitment under the Hinkler Regional Deal, supported by $40 million from the Australian Government.
It has been designed to support a growing region, improve access to services and contribute to a more active and connected city centre.
The opening date comes as Council prepares to take possession of the building later this month, allowing final preparations for the move.
To prepare for the move, the current Hervey Bay Library on Old Maryborough Road will close from 4pm on Saturday 1 August.
