SplashSide to close for annual maintenance

- Annual maintenance will help keep the popular water play park safe and reliable
- Facility to reopen ahead of the September school holidays
SplashSide at Anzac Park in Maryborough will temporarily close for six weeks from Monday 3 August to Sunday 13 September 2026 while essential annual maintenance is carried out.
Fraser Coast Regional Council Parks and Playgrounds spokesperson Cr Daniel Sanderson said the planned closure was an important part of ensuring one of the region’s most popular attractions continues working safely and reliably.
“SplashSide is a favourite destination for local families and visitors, so we need to take the time each year to give it the care it needs,” he said.
“Although SplashSide will be closed for a few weeks, carrying out this maintenance during the cooler months means families can enjoy the park with fewer disruptions when the warmer weather arrives.
“This year we're also refreshing some of SplashSide's most-loved features, including the giant tipping bucket and roller slide, to keep them in great condition for years to come.”
During the closure, crews will service pumps, filtration systems, and other mechanical equipment, inspect and clean water tanks, maintain electrical and water quality systems, pressure-clean the play equipment, and refurbish the tipping bucket and roller slide.
SplashSide is expected to reopen on Monday 14 September, ready for the September school holidays, weather and construction conditions permitting.
