The Fraser Coast Agriculture Show is back for 2026, promising more free family fun, more attractions and more reasons than ever to head along to one of the region’s biggest annual events.

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the iconic two-day Show will return to the Maryborough Showgrounds and Equestrian Park on Thursday May 21 and Friday May 22, building on record crowds and celebrating tradition, fun and farming.

“Last year the show welcomed more than 25,000 people through the gates, making this the third largest show day event in our region,” he said.

“That growth means even more to see and do, with a bigger program of attractions, entertainment and activities for all ages.

“This year is all about giving families even more to see and do, with a big focus on free activities so everyone can enjoy a great day out without breaking the budget.”

Cr Seymour said the Show will feature a range of exciting new attractions, including chariot motorbikes, the Roly Poly Quads, fashions on the field, helicopter rides, a dedicated food court, a new exhibition arena in front of the grandstand and an Under 18s bull ride.

“The Kids Corner has also been revamped, with a bigger focus on free activities like rock painting and card making, an expanded petting zoo which will feature Highland cattle and 150 miniature goats, plus interactive sessions with Fraser Coast Libraries, including Errol the Frog,” he said.

“We’re also excited to welcome popular kids’ author and musician, Deano Yipadee, who will be getting the kids singing and dancing with his high-energy performances.”

“On top of all that, you can enjoy classic show favourites like thrilling rides, mouth-watering food, showbags galore and fireworks on both nights from 8pm.

“There’s something for all ages, whether it’s hands-on activities for the kids, live demonstrations, competitions or just soaking up the atmosphere.”

Cr Seymour said free buses would again run throughout the day from Hervey Bay and Maryborough, making it easier for families to get to and from the event.

“With the cost of fuel still a concern for many households, this is an important service that helps make the Show more affordable,” he said.

“Events like this don’t happen without a huge community effort, and we thank the Fraser Coast Agriculture Show Society and all of their volunteers who work behind the scenes to bring it all together.”

Fraser Coast Agriculture Show Society President Joy Duke said the Show continues to grow thanks to strong community support and dedicated volunteers.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our stewards, members, volunteers and generous sponsors whose passion and commitment bring this iconic event to life each year,” she said.

“For more than 150 years, families have come to the Fraser Coast Agriculture Show to create lasting memories, and that strong sense of tradition and community is what makes it so special.”

Early bird tickets are available online, with prices about 37 per cent cheaper than buying at the gate.

A family day pass that normally costs $65 at the gate is just $50 online, saving $15.

Gates open from 9am each day and close around 9pm.

“Whether it’s your first time or a family tradition, this year’s Show is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet,” Cr Seymour said.
