- Main arena temporarily closed from this week for surface replacement
- Aqua Ninja and waterslides continue operating on weekends
- Works scheduled for completion ahead of busy Christmas holiday period
WetSide Water Park will remain open on weekends while renewal works are undertaken on the main arena soft-fall surface from today.
Fraser Coast Regional Council Parks and Playgrounds spokesperson Cr John Weiland said the works would help maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors while preparing the facility for the busy summer period.
“The main arena is an important part of the WetSide experience, and replacing the specialised soft-fall surface will help ensure the area continues to be safe and enjoyable for visitors,” he said.
“The replacement surface is being supplied under warranty, with the timing of the works influenced by the availability of specialist materials and accredited installers.
“Scheduling the works after the September school holidays allows the project to be completed ahead of the busy Christmas holiday period.”
During the works, the main arena will be temporarily closed, however visitors can still enjoy WetSide’s other attractions.
“Aqua Ninja and the waterslides will continue operating on weekends while the main arena works are underway,” Cr Weiland said.
“TotSide will also remain temporarily closed while repair works are completed in that area.”
Cr Weiland said the works were expected to be completed by mid-November, with the full WetSide experience available again ahead of the summer holiday period.
“We know WetSide is a popular destination for families, especially during the warmer months, and we appreciate the community’s patience while these important works are completed,” he said.
“Once finished, visitors will be able to enjoy a renewed main arena ready for another busy summer season.”
