- WetSide to reopen on Wednesday 9 September for the 2026/27 season
- Annual maintenance program carried out during winter shutdown
- Main arena surface replacement planned after September school holidays
Fraser Coast’s popular WetSide Water Park will reopen on Wednesday 9 September 2026 following its annual winter maintenance shutdown, with visitors invited back to enjoy another season of water play and family activities.
Fraser Coast Regional Council Parks and Playgrounds spokesperson John Weiland said Council had used the winter closure to carry out maintenance, servicing and safety inspections to prepare the facility for the busy summer season.
“WetSide is one of our region’s most popular family attractions, offering a range of experiences including the water play arena, waterslides and the Aqua Ninja course,” he said.
“Over winter, our teams have been busy carrying out important maintenance works, including servicing equipment, completing safety inspections, electrical testing, painting, deep cleaning and other preventative maintenance across the park.
“TotSide will remain temporarily closed when WetSide reopens while repair works are completed to ensure the area is safe for visitors.
“These maintenance and repair works help ensure WetSide continues to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors as we head into another busy season.”
Cr Weiland said Council would also undertake further renewal works later in the season to help maintain the facility into the future.
“Following the September school holidays, Council will replace the specialised soft-fall surface in the main arena from 6 October to mid-November,” he said.
“The replacement surface is being supplied under warranty, with the timing of the works planned around the availability of specialist materials and accredited installers. This will allow the project to be completed ahead of the busy Christmas holiday period.”
The main arena will be temporarily closed from 6 October until mid-November while the replacement works are completed. Aqua Ninja and the waterslides will continue operating on weekends.
Cr Weiland said providing advance notice of the works would help visitors plan their trips to WetSide during the renewal period.
“Visitors will still be able to enjoy some of WetSide’s popular attractions on weekends while the main arena surface is replaced,” he said.
“These works will help ensure WetSide continues to be a safe and enjoyable place for families to visit.”
Entry to WetSide is free, however there is a cost for the waterslides. For more details, visit www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/wetside-water-park
