100,000 tree celebration - Community Tree Planting at Takura

Join us for a special National Tree Day community planting event as Fraser Coast Regional Council celebrates the planting of its 100,000^th tree - reaching its 2030 target four years ahead of schedule.

Come along to the Takura Environmental Reserve to connect with nature, help expand local habitat, support wildlife and be part of this historic environmental milestone.

The ceremonial planting of the 100,000^th tree - a Kauri Pine - is scheduled for 8am (weather permitting), with Mayor George Seymour and Councillor Michelle Govers taking part.

Enjoy a free BBQ breakfast and free coffee.

Please wear sun-safe clothing and enclosed shoes, and bring your favourite pair of gardening gloves if you have them.

All planting equipment will be provided.

This event is suitable for children, adult supervision is required at all times.

Enter the reserve at the end of Barnett Road.
