Community Governance Workshop - Hervey Bay

Free governance workshops for community groups in Hervey Bay and Maryborough
Fraser Coast not-for-profit community groups will have the opportunity to brush up on their club management skills.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council acknowledges the efforts and contributions of community groups and clubs across the region and will be coordinating a series of free governance workshops in 2026 facilitated by leading governance expert Leisa Donlan.
The workshop will cover essentials skills such as who should do what in your club; understanding and reviewing club constitutions; fast and effective meetings; managing complaints & getting along with each other; and strategic planning to make big things happen.
Topics will include:
  • Working together, getting the right things done and have fun (or at least no conflicts) while you are doing it.
  • Which laws apply to your club and how you can monitor changes and new requirements;
  • Changes to running an incorporated association and big new responsibilities for clubs who have junior members;
  • How to keep up to date on changing legislation.
  • Properly handling complaints & reduce the chances of you ever having them!
Finger food platters will be provided for attendees on arrival.
