What is the Great Easter Eggs-Pedition?

A cracking good adventure for the whole family

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) is egg-cited to welcome families back to the Giant Easter Eggs-pedition at the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens — returning for its third year and bigger than ever!

From 3–19 April, families are invited to explore the gardens and discover 12 giant Easter eggs, beautifully designed by local artists and inspired by wondrous places from around the world. Each egg tells its own imaginative story, with playful prompts that encourage children and grown-ups to talk, think, explore, and create together.

It’s an outdoor adventure where curiosity leads the way — no map-reading skills required, just a sense of wonder (and maybe some bunny ears).

How It Works

Starting Point: Orchid House, Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens

Collect a passport from the Orchid House or download one from the HBNC website

Follow the clues to find each giant egg and answer the fun prompts along the trail

Once your passport is complete, take a photo and upload it via the QR code to enter the draw

The trail is self-paced, so families can explore at their own speed — stopping for photos, play, and plenty of “wow” moments along the way.
