Mental Health First Aid Training - K'gari

Accredited Mental Health First Aid Training delivered by David Shillington

Equip yourself with the knowledge and confidence to recognise, connect and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem in your community - and how to support your own mental health.

Fraser Coast Regional Council has partnered with Prime Effect to deliver these workshops as part of our goal to help build a community that recovers better, faster and stronger by empowering everyday people with the skills to support one another during times of crisis.

Participants will gain the skills to:

  • Recognise when someone is becoming unwell
  • Be confident to have a mental health conversation with a colleague, client or friend who is unwell
  • Navigate the conversation comfortably provide simple support
  • Refer that person to professional help if needed.
  • Assist in a crises situation

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR - David Shillington is a Principal Master Mental Health First Aid Instructor, a former NRL and QLD Maroon player. David is a counsellor & mental health trainer.

The workshop is held over two days in The Ballroom, Kingfisher Bay Resort, with morning tea and lunch provided and is free to attend, but booking is essential.
