Native plant stall at the Botanic Gardens Open Day in Urangan

This plant sale in the Botanic Gardens carpark provides green thumbs and garden lovers with a rare chance to purchase native plants direct from Council's Natural Environment Team.

Where: Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens Carpark

When: Saturday 26 September from 8.30am to midday.

A range of approximately 1500 plants will be available for sale, including melaleucas, local koala food trees, a selection of rainforest species from our region and the iconic Kauri Pine - the official tree of the Fraser Coast.

This is a rare opportunity for residents to purchase plants directly from Council, making it the perfect time to create a truly Fraser Coast garden.

Plants in tubes will be available for just $3 each, while more mature stock in super tubes can be purchased for $5 each

All of these plants are grown through Council’s Community Environment Program nursery and are the same species used in revegetation projects across our parks and natural areas.

The Orchid House will also be open over the weekend giving visitors the chance to learn more about its history and renowned collection of more than 5,500 plants from 85 different orchid groups.

Orchid House extended opening hours:

  • Saturday 26 September - 9am – 12pm
  • Sunday 27 September - 9am – 12pm
