Celebrate 100 Years of the Scarness Band Rotunda

Join the community for a special centenary celebration as we mark 100 years of the iconic Scarness Band Rotunda and officially name the surrounding parkland Haddow’s Corner.

The naming recognises the Haddow family’s significant contribution to Scarness, celebrating their businesses, community spirit and the role they played in helping shape the area into the beloved seaside destination it is today.

Event Highlights
  • Live Music - Enjoy performances from Hervey Bay City Musicians Inc. as we celebrate this special community milestone.
  • Free Mr Whippy Ice Creams - To honour the late George Haddow Senior, who delivered ice cream by horse and cart in the 1920s, 100 free Mr Whippy ice creams will be available for attendees while stocks last.
  • Local History Display - Discover more about Scarness’ fascinating past with insights from the Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum.
  • Official Sign Unveiling - Witness the unveiling of the new Haddow’s Corner sign as this important piece of local history is formally recognised.
