Community BBQ Fundraising
Team up with Council for summer fundraising!
Fraser Coast community groups are invited to host BBQ fundraising at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre from the 15 December 2025 to 25 January 2026 (excluding public holidays). Council will supply free BBQ space and power - your group supplies the equipment, food, staff and the fundraising energy.
What Council provides
- Free allocated BBQ areas and power supply.
- A safe, busy location that attracts families and visitors.
What your group provides
- All BBQ equipment and consumables (BBQ, utensils, serving items, stock).
- Trained staff/volunteers to run the stall.
- Public liability insurance (minimum $20 million).
- Any permits, signage and compliance documentation required under Council policy.
Menu rules
- Approved items include BBQ sausages, burgers, bacon and egg rolls, or other items approved by Council.
- Do not replicate kiosk offerings (no drinks, coffee, ice-cream, confectionery).
- All food handling must comply with the Food Act 2006 and Fraser Coast Regional Council food safety requirements.

Selection criteria
Groups will be selected based on:
- Community benefit and clear fundraising purpose.
- Capacity to manage a safe, compliant operation.
- Local connection and active community involvement.
- Diversity of groups represented across the program.

Notes for applicants / organisers
- Food handling and setup must meet the Food Act 2006 and Fraser Coast Regional Council’s food safety and facility use requirements.
- Menu items that clash with the Aquatic Centre kiosk (drinks, coffee, ice-cream, confectionery) will not be approved.
- Council supplies space and power only - groups must bring their own BBQ equipment, utensils, stock and waste disposal arrangements.
- All activities must comply with Council’s Facility Use Policy, Food Business Requirements and public liability conditions.
