From Monday 31 August, the Hervey Bay Library and Council Customer Service Centre will open at the new Hervey Bay Community Hub, 23 Main Street, Pialba.
The Urangan Pier underwent restoration works to address areas of deterioration.
Regular inspections showed that parts of the pier were deteriorating and needed repairs to keep it safe and functional.
The works commenced late January 2025 and were completed in April 2025.
Timber Restoration Services were hired to carry out the repairs.
The project cost $911,183.96 (ex GST), funded by the State Government’s Works for Queensland Program.
The pier is now safer and better for public use.
