Region Wide Park Asset Renewal Program
Fraser Coast Regional Council is undertaking a region-wide renewal program to replace ageing barbecues and deteriorated playground elements across multiple parks.
These works follow comprehensive asset inspections which identified several items as reaching end-of-life, discontinued, damaged or no longer compliant with current Australian Standards.
The program will improve safety, accessibility, durability and overall user experience across a number of community parks.
What’s Happening?
Council will:
Barbecue replacements
- Replace barbecue units at Bill Fraser Park
- Replace barbecue units at Fixter Park
- Replace barbecue units at River Heads Community Hall Park
- Replace barbecue units at Scarness Park
The new barbecue models are more robust and sustainable, wheelchair accessible, and designed to reduce long-term maintenance requirements
Playground element replacements
- Replace play tower at Bellert Park
- Replace play tower at Craignish Park
- Replace spinner at ESA Park
- Replace swings at RA Hunter Park
- Replace swings at Aldershot Park
The new playground elements will improve long-term durability, enhance play value, ensure compliance with current Australian Standards, and reduce ongoing maintenance requirements.
Why
Recent inspections identified several assets as:

- No longer compliant with current standards
- Increasing maintenance demands
Replacing these items now ensures our parks remain safe, functional and enjoyable for the community.
