The Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning coordinates planning services for Queensland, including development applications, regional plans, state planning policies and regulatory provisions and infrastructure strategies. The State Planning Policy (SPP) provides a comprehensive set of principles which underpin Queensland’s planning system to guide local governments and the state government in land use planning and development assessment.

While the Fraser Coast Planning Scheme 2014 provides for “exempt vegetation clearing” under some circumstances, owners of properties which contain wildlife habitat or remnant vegetation should also refer to the Department of Natural Resources and Mines website for information prior to undertaking any clearing of native vegetation on their property.
