A Dog's Day Out

**Cancelled**

We regret to inform you that the upcoming Dogs Day Out event this Sunday 28 April has been cancelled.

The grounds at Brendan Hansen Park in Maryborough are too wet and waterlogged to be serviced.

With further rain forecast, the event can't go ahead safely, and we must prioritise the wellbeing of our stallholders and attendees

When: Sunday 28 April, 8am – 12 noon
Where: Brendan Hansen Park, Maryborough.

  • Novelty Dog Show – Prizes for best-dressed dog, best trick, owner look-alike competition.
  • Market stalls, pet products and pet care talks.
  • FREE microchipping and FREE first-time dog registration
  • Learn more about the desexing rebate!

Come along to ‘A Dogs Day Out’ to learn how you can best look after your furry friend!

Having a dog can bring great joy, but it also comes with great responsibility including desexing, vaccinations, registration, exercise, training and more.

  • It is compulsory for dogs to be registered with Council from 12 weeks of age and within 14 days of owners moving to the Fraser Coast region.
  • Council offers free first-year dog registration to encourage residents to register their animals.
  • Council also offers a $100 rebate for dogs desexed within the last 60 days if you hold an approved Queensland Concession Card.
  • Pet owners who desex their dogs will enjoy ongoing savings with lower registration fees for desexed dogs, a reward for being a responsible pet owner.
  • Making sure your pet is registered and microchipped will ensure your pet is returned home quickly if it happens to escape the yard.
  • Your registration fees contribute to the cost of Council’s animal management operations, including compliance inspections, dog attack investigations, running the adoption centre, fenced off-leash areas, and responsible pet care programs.
  • It is mandatory to keep your dog registration details up to date, which includes your current residential address and contact details. Additionally, it is required to always display the registration tag for your dog.
  • If you have lost or damaged your registration tag, please contact Council for a new tag.
  • Learn more about your responsibilities as a pet owner here - www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/responsible-pet-ownership
