Significant Trees

Council has a tree management policy which highlights the need to identify significant trees, assess their importance and develop management strategies applicable to the identified trees.

Residents are invited to provide a submission for potentially significant trees located on Council land to be included in the Significant Tree Register.

The register will assist Council in the planning of operational works and future infrastructure development.

Significant trees may include individual and groups of trees and can be assessed against one or more criteria listed below.

  • historical value;
  • botanical value;
  • landscape value;
  • natural value;
  • cultural value; or
  • habitat/ecological value.
