  • Gatakers Artspace in Maryborough is a community artspace which displays the work of local and regional artists and craftspeople.

  • The Brolga’s diverse program is a broad cross-section of the community including productions tailored to meet specific needs of youth, primary school-aged children, seniors and families.

  • There are two aquatic centres to enjoy in the region - Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

    The pool inflatable operates on Saturdays from 11am to 2.30pm (weather permitting). Cost is $2 plus pool entry.

    The Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre features a 50m pool, 25m heated pool, children's leisure pool with water slides, BBQs and shaded picnic areas and play equipment.

    The Maryborough Aquatic Centre boasts a 50-metre pool, 25-metre heated pool, hydrotherapy pool, children's play area, tip bucket, amenities and kiosk.

  • Located on the Hervey Bay Esplanade foreshore, WetSide Water Park features interactive play equipment, water slides, surfing and special play area for under-5’s called TotSide.

    There is also a coffee shop, viewing decks and boardwalks, educational displays, amenities and a pay-per-use Board Rider wave machine.

  • Fraser Coast Libraries have heaps of fun activities and events for children and young people.

  • The Fraser Coast has two botanic gardens - one among the oldest in Australia, while the other grows out of sand dunes more than 6000 years old.  It also has more than 80 other parks, gardens, playgrounds and recreational areas.

  • There are many green open spaces, barbeque facilities, picnic areas, walkways and cycleways, play equipment, sporting fields and skate parks on the Fraser Coast.

  • Fish off one of the small jetties along the Esplanade or walk out to the end of the long jetty (approx. 1 km long).

    Drop a fishing line into a deep shipping channel where they catch all sorts of fish like garfish, whiting, bream, flathead up to big fish like "Golden Trevally".
