Customer service media release 600x424

Fraser Coast residents are being encouraged to have their say on how Council delivers services.

Deputy Mayor Paul Truscott said an external specialist firm would conduct two surveys over the next three weeks to help better understand community views on Council services and how Council interacts with customers.

“Council delivers a broad range of services to the community, ranging from water supply and waste collection through to maintaining parks and playgrounds, assessing development applications and responding to animal management issues, to name just a few,” he said.

“Our Customer Service team receives about 100,000 phone calls and 45,000 emails a year, while more than 32,000 customers attend our Customer Service Centres each year,” he said.

“That’s almost 400 calls a day and 131 customers a day coming into our customer service centres.

“The community satisfaction and customer service surveys will help us understand how well we are doing with our customer service and in managing our key services.

“The survey can be completed anonymously and only summary data from the consultant will be provided to Council, so we encourage residents to be frank in their assessments.”

Residents can have their say online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FCRC_community and https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FCRC_customer while printed copies will be available at all Council libraries and Customer Service Centres in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

Alternatively, residents can complete surveys via phone or request a survey be posted to them by calling 1800 818 717 during office hours.

Survey participants will have the opportunity to win one of five $200 Buy Local gift cards. Entry will be opt-in and contact details will be kept separate to the survey data.

Surveys open today and close on 18 December 2022 with the results to be presented to Council in early 2023.
