Council has launched a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2015–2017 which outlines the commitment to a positive way forward in increasing mutual respect, enriching strong relationships and creating sustainable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Over the next two years Council will be implementing the actions outlined in this Plan.
Council’s RAP has been prepared with the support of Reconciliation Australia who outline a program for organisations to develop business plans that document what they will do within their sphere of influence to contribute to reconciliation in Australia.
Council’s RAP is within the “The Innovate” stage which aims to raise internal awareness in regard to Council’s commitment to reconciliation.
During this time Council will focus on promoting the RAP to staff and provide opportunities to engage with reconciliation activities.
