Community Achievements
We like to celebrate residents at all stages of life and community involvement.
Did you know you can apply to receive a congratulatory letter from the mayor for different achievements such as volunteering or personal achievements?
If you know someone that should be recognised by Council please fill out the online form below or print the Congratulatory Letter Application Form and return via email to enquiry@frasercoast.qld.gov.au.
If you know someone turning 100, you can request a ‘centenary tree’ planted in their honour.
Completed application forms can be returned to Council via enquiry@frasercoast.qld.gov.au or by post at PO Box 1943, Hervey Bay, QLD, 4655.
Requests for Centenary Trees should be submitted with two months’ notice (late applications will still be processed, however they may not be able to be arranged by the date of the birthday).

Centenary Tree Recognition
Fraser Coast Regional Council offers a special way to honour residents who reach their 100th birthday through the planting of a Centenary Tree.
Trees are planted in one of three beautiful locations:
Elizabeth Park Rose Garden, Maryborough
Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens, Urangan
Tiaro Memorial Park, Tiaro
Each planting includes a small celebration ceremony and a plaque engraved with the centenarian’s name and birth date.
Applications must be submitted in advance.
For full eligibility details and how to apply, please refer to the Centenary Tree Policy and Application Form above. -
Volunteers
Council is proud of the achievements of so many of our residents and we want them to know by acknowledging them with a letter from the Mayor.
Examples of achievements include: long term volunteering, dedication to community, volunteering contributions, excellence within school or sporting achievements. -
Youth Acknowledgement
A congratulatory letter is also great way to celebrate the achievements of young people in our community who have excelled in academics, sports, or community service.
