Infrastructure Projects
Information on a range of projects that are underway or completed by Council in the last 4 years.
Some projects may take a bit longer than anticipated to complete due to extended periods of rain, construction conditions or contractors' availability.
Current Projects

Margaret Linn Reserve Basketball Halfcourt and Shelter Upgrades
Works will begin the week commencing 4 August and are expected to be completed by 22 August weather permitting.

Maryborough Rowers Pontoon and Gangway Replacement
Construction works will commence from 12 May 2025 and is expected to finish by the end of August 2025, depending on the weather and other conditions.

Glenwood Playground
Construction commenced on 28 April 2025 with the playground to be officially reopened on Saturday 9 August.

Maryborough Garden of Rest Lawn Cemetery Upgrades
Work is expected to start around 25 March 2025 and should be finished by June 2025, depending on the weather.

Scarness Park Rotunda Refurbishment
Work will start on Friday, 14 March 2025, with fencing and scaffolding going up first. The roofing company will begin work on Monday, 17 March 2025, and the project should be finished by the end of August 2025, depending on the weather.

Seafront Oval maintenance works
Work starts on Monday 10 February 2025 and is expected to finish by 21 March 2025, depending on the weather.

ANZAC Park Lions Shelter Refurbishment
Project completed: June 2025
The improved shelter is now more durable, safer, and easier to maintain, ensuring it remains a valuable and inviting space for the Maryborough community. -
Boundary Road and Robert Street signalisation
Project completed: November 2024
Fraser Coast motorists can now enjoy a safer and smoother journey through one of Hervey Bay’s busiest intersections, with an upgrade of the Boundary Road, Hughes Road and Robert Street intersection completed months ahead of schedule. -
Hervey Bay City Centre Carpark Extension
Project completed: December 2024
This project extends the PCYC car park in Hervey Bay, improving access to businesses, Council venues, the popular new pump track, and the upcoming Hervey Bay Community Hub. -
Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens Wedding area upgrade
Project completed: November 2024
The Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens wedding area is being upgraded to provide a beautiful, all-weather space for events and celebrations.
