All Abilities playgrounds
The Fraser Coast is fortunate to have two All Ability playgrounds, the inclusive nature of the play equipment means that the entire family can enjoy themselves.
These playgrounds feature a wide variety of accessible, inclusive play equipment and experiences, including custom-built swings to suit all abilities. They offer sheltered barbecue's, accessible toilet facilities, car parks with disabled bays and decorative pathways suited to wheelchair and pram use and gardens throughout.
Keys to the Liberty Swing's can be accessed via calling 1300 79 49 29.
You will be required to collect the key and return it to the relevant offices in either Hervey Bay or Maryborough.

The Qld Government also provides a list of all ability playgrounds.
Council is supportive of all residents and visitors having the opportunity to access and experience Fraser Coast beaches and has made available two specifically designed beach wheelchairs for those with a disability.
- The wheelchairs are free to hire but may require a refundable bond to be paid prior to collection.
- Bookings will need to be made 24hrs in advance.
- Both wheelchairs are located at Bill Fraser Park on the Esplanade.

The Beach Wheelchair User Guide and Loan Form (PDF) outlines further information and will be required to be submitted at time of hire of these wheelchairs.
The ability awards are held annually and recognises individuals, groups and organisations who have achieved excellence and should be celebrated.
The awards also acknowledge that people with a disability have made substantial achievements and provide ongoing contributions to the Fraser Coast Community.

The purpose of the Fraser Coast Inclusive Access Advisory Committee is to provide strategic advice on policy and practice to Council with such advice to assist in responding to the needs and aspirations of people of all abilities in our region.
The Committee’s objectives are to advocate for solutions to the issues that impact on life opportunities of people of all abilities; participate in the development of Council’s Disability Action Plan; and assist Council to become a leader in delivering infrastructure and services for people of all abilities; Advise on “best practice” in universal access planning; and assist the Fraser Coast Regional Council to become a leader in delivering infrastructure and services for people of all abilities.
