Friday 5 April - Hervey Bay Reopening Party from 9am to 3pm
With Deano Yipadee performance at 10am and 2pm
Special appearances by scrapboy and dirtgirl (from ABC Kids TV) at 11am
Meet and Greet with Deano Yipadee, scrapboy and dirtgirl at 12pm
The party will include a jumping castle, face painting, complimentary sausage sizzle, giveaways, a range of activities for all ages!
 

Design-A-Bookmark

Good Reading for Kids is an e-zine for primary-school age kids. It publishes their creative work including book reviews, poetry, short stories, artwork, photography and stories. If youngsters have created something or been involved in creating something, Good Reading for Kids will publish it.

S.T.E.A.M. Club
Science |Technology | Engineering | Art | Mathematics

Fraser Coast Libraries present a weekly S.T.E.A.M. Club at Hervey Bay and Maryborough branches.  Children 8 years of age and older are encouraged to put on their thinking caps, explore, invent, tinker and problem solve with each session based around a common theme.  These sessions may include coding and robotics.  Themes and topics will be advertised each week through Facebook, Eventbrite and at the libraries.
No previous coding and robotics experience is necessary.
No Bookings required. Ages 8+

Classes are advertised before the start of each term through Eventbrite, on our website and on Facebook.

Lego Club

This is a free session to come along and get creative.  No competition, no instructions just loads of Lego and Duplo available for free building or pick up one of our challenge cards.

Open to all ages, children under the age of 12 years require a parent or guardian to be in attendance.

Loud

LOUD provides a free safe space at the Hervey Bay library to come along and enjoy. Chill, hang out and catch up with friends. Afternoon snacks available and Ipads and Laptops available upon request. Attendees must be 12 years or over to be in attendance. No bookings required.

CHILL Club

CHILL at Hervey Bay library from 2pm to 3:30pm. CHILL in a free safe space. All ages welcome, attendees under 12 years require a parent or guardian to be in attendance. A range of library resources available for use including iPads & Laptops. Try our challenge for the day; 21st March - Family game day 18th April - Kanopy Movie 16th May - 3D pens No bookings required.

Holiday activities

Each school holiday period, Fraser Coast Libraries organises a range of fun, exciting and budget-friendly activities for kids.  Details of the activities are released 3 weeks before the start of the holiday period in our libraries, on Eventbrite, on our webpage and on Facebook.

Summer Reading Club

Summer Reading Club is a national program which is run during the summer holidays each year.  It aims to encourage children to keep reading over the summer break to maintain their reading levels.  The club is based around a theme each year. Incentive prizes are given during the program as well as a major prize draw and break-up party at the end of the program.
