Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm
The Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm is located on four hectares of the Hebblewhite Farm at Nikenbah.
It is made up of over 1,500 ground mount solar panels, two inverters and a step-up transformer.
Electricity is generated at the site and fed back into the grid.
The average greenhouse gas emissions offset each year is approximately 554 tonnes of CO2-e. The Solar Farm produces 630 MWh per year.
Hebblewhite Farm comprises 120 hectares and was purchased by Wide Bay Water.
A 50 megalitre dam and 50-hectare native hardwood tree plantation have also been constructed on the site.
The Solar Farm was built with the support of the Queensland State Government.
