People Choice Awards for Waste to Art Competition announced
8 November 2019
The people have spoken – The People’s Choice Awards for the Waste To Art Competition has been settled.
More than a hundred pieces of art were created for the competition, which encourages Fraser Coast residents to creatively re-purpose items from reuse markets, op shops, second-hand shops or whatever they have at home into art rather than sending them to landfill.
With the closing of the exhibition on Sunday October 27, the votes have been tallied and the winners have been decided.
In the Junior Exhibition, Tayla Barber’s entry: Below what the eye can see, was given the nod. Tayla wins a $50 cash card.
In the Senior Exhibition, the winner is Mary Brown for her art work titled: The singing handbag. Mary wins a $250 cash card.
