What’s happening?
Council is upgrading the basketball halfcourt and nearby shelter at Margaret Linn Reserve on Doolong Road, Kawungan. Work is set to begin the week of 4 August 2025 and is expected to finish by 22 August 2025, weather permitting.
What?
The existing halfcourt and basketball hoop will be replaced, and the nearby shelter will receive some improvements. These include:
Replacing old pavers with concrete,
Installing new seating and a barbecue,
Improving drainage around the area.
Why?
The halfcourt has reached the end of its life and needs replacing. These upgrades will make the space more enjoyable and safer for everyone, while also reducing future maintenance. Margaret Linn Reserve is a popular local park used by families and young people, so keeping it in good condition is important.
Community Impact
The upgraded facilities will provide a better place to shoot hoops, have a picnic, or relax. While works are underway, there may be some temporary access restrictions to parts of the park, but the end result will be worth it. Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements.
