Description

This estate was previously part of a larger property that included Maryborough Rd to the north-west, Urraween Rd to the south and Pantlins Lane to the east. The area to the north-east was a Melaleuca wetland extending to Condor Lakes.  The southern end of the property was farmed for sugar cane with the balance of dry land used for grazing cattle.

Butchulla History

There were always freshwater "lobbies" (crayfish) in the waterholes and farm dams around here. Even as children we knew the Law of the Land: we respected nature and would never catch more than we could eat. When we were young there was wildlife everywhere and it is important that we look after our remaining bushland and waterways. What is good for the land must come first - this is Butchulla Law.
