You can usually see them resting in the shade or shelter of trees to avoid the hottest part of the day or grazing on grasses at dawn/dusk. The Eastern grey kangaroo is protected by law.

The swamp wallaby is a small and stocky marsupial that prefers the habitat of dense forests and woodlands. They feed on a variety of plants including ferns, grasses and shrubs. Swamp wallabies are solitary animals, feeding mostly and dawn and dusk.
