Local Law 5 - Parking

Local Law 5 (Parking) 2011 (PDF,37kB) and Subordinate Local Law 5 (Parking) 2011 (PDF, 3.7MB) apply across the Fraser Coast region with amendments to the Subordinate Local Law gazetted on 4 August 2023.

This law regulates the parking of vehicles within the local government area and works in conjunction with the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995.

This is to be achieved by:

  • The establishment of traffic areas and off-street regulated parking areas
  • Lawfully parking contrary to an indication on an official traffic sign with a parking permit or in a loading zone with a commercial vehicle identification label
  • The prescribing of infringement notice penalties for minor traffic offences.

For further information on parking, please see Regulated Parking.
