A national sailing championship, a masters’ squash tournament and a rodeo are among a dozen events being supported with community grants from Fraser Coast Regional Council.

At its meeting this week, Council approved the grants through the Community Events program.

“Council’s grants schemes offer a range of opportunities for groups to apply for funding for projects, activities and events that help ensure we have a vibrant community,” Cr Paul Truscott said.

“After 2020 was such a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a pleasure to see so many community-driven activities being organised across the Fraser Coast and for Council to be able to support community groups through our grants programs.

“It’s all about building better communities together on the Fraser Coast.”
