Maryborough CBD Evacuation / Affected Street list

URGENT - All premises within the Maryborough CBD now have to be evacuated.

The gates underneath the recently installed levee have been damaged and, as a result, the CBD will now bear the full impact of the flood.

Police are providing assistance with the emergency evacuation and we urge people to stay out of the CBD.

STREETS LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED in addition to those already impacted. 

With the Maryborough urban area flood expected to reach 10.3m by around 6pm tonight, many more streets are likely to be affected.

Impacted residents are urged to move property and possessions to higher ground and prepare to self-evacuate if necessary.

Between now and the predicted peak, affected streets could include:

  • Alice Street between Tanner and Ullulah overflow
  • Anne Street (near intersection with Carlson Av)
  • Annie Street west of Tapscott St
  • Anzac Street
  • Arbury Street
  • Ariadne and Victory Streets
  • Carlson Avenue (northern end)
  • Chapman Street
  • Cheapside Street from Victory to Arbury
  • Corbet Lane
  • Dymock Street (north end)
  • Fort and Queen Streets
  • George Street west of Russell
  • Gilbert Street
  • Gillespie Street (northern end)
  • Gympie Road ( North of Shultz’s Bridge)
  • Hyne Street
  • Isabel St to Gympie Road
  • John Street South of Queen
  • Lennox Street south of Queen
  • Margaret Street (western end)
  • Pallas Queen to Hyne Street
  • Queen Street between Fort Street and Adelaide Lane
  • Queen and Russell Streets
  • Queen Street north between Overflow and Pallas
  • Queen Street south between overflow and Tooley Street
  • Robinson Street (western end)
  • Saltwater Creek Road (a section)
  • Scott Street (eastern end)
  • Serenity Drive (western end)
  • Tanner Street
  • Thurecht Street (north end)

Surrounding streets may also be impacted to a lesser degree.

Those who are self-evacuating are urged to shelter with friends and family where possible. For those who can’t, an evacuation centre has been set up at the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough. Please bring your own medical supplies, toiletries and blankets to the Brolga if you can.
