Fraser Coast residents of all ages will have the opportunity to experience expert ballet classes during a visit from the Queensland Ballet.

Fraser Coast Regional Council is excited to welcome the Queensland Ballet to Hervey Bay on 16 July 2023, where they will host four classes for dancers of all ages and abilities.

Mayor George Seymour said it was fantastic to have the Queensland Ballet offering inclusive classes on the Fraser Coast.

“These classes give any local dancer a chance to experience world-class training here at home,” he said.

“Council hopes by supporting these initiatives and hosting the state’s top performers, we can inspire people to develop their skill set.

“By opening these classes to all abilities, we hope to encourage people to try ballet for the first time by learning from the best.”

Queensland Ballet Artistic Director Li Cunxin said the company was excited to spread the magic of ballet with the Fraser Coast.

“Dance has the incredible ability to transform lives, whether through the physical movement, the social aspect, or the creative expression,” he said.

“We are incredibly grateful to our loyal supporters, who allow us to connect with communities all across Queensland and beyond.”
