Undercover grandstand seating for Maryborough AFL, sound equipment for a Hervey Bay ukulele group and solar panels for the Burrum District Community Centre are among initiatives being supported with Fraser Coast Regional Council community grants.

Cr Paul Truscott said Council approved just over $70,000 in grants to assist 15 local community groups and not-for-profit organisations under the second round of the 2023/24 Community Grants program.

“Council’s grant scheme offers a range of opportunities for groups to apply for funding for projects and events that help ensure we have a vibrant, connected and inclusive community,” he said.

“It is great to see so many community-driven activities being organised across the region, and Council is pleased to be able to support community groups to develop their facilities and events.

“It’s all about building better communities together.”
