Murder and mystery takes centre stage at Author Talk

Literary enthusiasts and crime fiction fans are in for a treat as author Angie Faye Martin brings her captivating storytelling to Hervey Bay next month at ‘Lines in the Sand’ Author Talk.

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said if you’re a fan of Australian outback crime then don’t miss the chance to come along to this author talk to celebrate the release of Angie’s debut book – Melaleuca.

“This is a gripping Australian crime story where a murder in the present leads to long-buried injustice,” he said.

“In Melaleuca, Angie weaves a tale of a remote town shadowed by a brutal murder and a shameful past, leading to an inevitable reckoning.

"The Author Talk will take place at the Hervey Bay Library on Wednesday, June 11, from 3pm to 4:30pm, where Angie will share the stories and inspirations behind the book that’s captivated readers across the country.”

Angie, a writer and editor of Kooma, Kamilaroi and European heritage, is a member of the First Nations Australia Writers Network and is accredited with the Institute of Professional Editors.

“We’re thrilled to welcome such a distinguished writer to speak with local readers and aspiring authors,” Cr Seymour said.

“Attendees will gain insights into Martin's creative process, character development, and the real-life inspirations behind her work.

“The session will conclude with a Q&A segment and book signing, offering fans a chance to engage directly with the author.  Entry is free, but bookings are essential.”

Cr Seymour said Fraser Coast Libraries regularly host free ‘Lines in the Sand’ Author Talks to inspire both readers and aspiring writers.
