Statement on Hervey Bay High parking

Council worked with Hervey Bay State High School, Translink and Wide Bay Transit to review parking and drop-off areas on Beach Road to make it safer and easier for students and parents.

Based on feedback from the school and transport operators, several changes were made on the school side of Beach Road.

Some all-day parking spaces have become short-term parking zones, and a loading zone has been added for student drop-off and pick-up.

These changes help parents and carers safely set down or collect students without blocking traffic or parking in no-standing zones.

The updates are designed to improve traffic flow and safety before and after school, while making sure bus zones and no-standing areas remain clear for everyone’s safety.
