Draft Fraser Coast Waterbody Management Framework

Back

Fraser Coast Regional Council is responsible for managing fifty-four (54) constructed or highly modified waterbodies across the region.

Your feedback is invited regarding the draft Fraser Coast Waterbody Management Framework developed to help strategically manage these waterbodies, with a combined surface area of 120 hectares and 45 kilometres of shoreline.

Completing Council’s survey will help inform development of the Fraser Coast Waterbody Management Strategy as well as priority actions within the Waterbody Management Plans for two of the highest priority and largest waterbody systems of Ululah Lagoons in Maryborough and the Lowlands Lagoons (also known as Anembo Lakes) in Torquay.

These Waterbody Management Plans are considered pilot projects and are expected to inform Council’s management approach to similar high priority waterbodies in the future.
